England's Alison Nicholas has been selected to continue as captain of the European side for the 2011 Solheim Cup.
The 47-year-old, who led the team for their 16-12 loss to the United States in August, was the unanimous choice of the European Solheim Cup Committee.
"I'm absolutely delighted," said Nicholas. "It's a great honour and privilege to be a captain at home."
Killeen Castle in Ireland will host the event, a biennial matchplay contest between Europe and the United States.
The United States have been victorious in the previous three editions of the Solheim Cup, the latest being this year's event at Rich Harvest Farms in Illinois.
However, despite the most recent defeat, Nicholas remains enthusiastic about her side's chances of reclaiming the trophy in 2011.
"I loved the experience at Rich Harvest Farms and I thought we were going to do it - I really did," said Nicholas.

That's why I'm confident for Ireland, because I'm confident in my players.
"The two teams are very close, as we proved. We've got two years to go and there are some good young players on the European Tour.
"I think they will come into their own over the next two years and we'll have some youngsters to fight those young American players. They just need to believe in themselves a bit more."
Alexandra Armas, Executive Director of the Ladies European Tour, who forms part of the European Solheim Cup Committee along with the Players' Council and past captains, backed Nicholas and her team to succeed.
"Alison was a natural choice for the selection committee as she was such an inspirational figure at Rich Harvest Farms," said Armas.
"Although Europe lost the match, Alison had her team extremely well prepared and we are convinced that she will give Europe the best chance of winning back the trophy in Ireland."
Nicholas has been given an extra wild card for the event, in the same way one has been given to Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie.
